黑碳化矽噴砂是用石英砂、石油焦（或煤焦）、木屑等原料在電阻爐內高溫熔煉而成，電阻爐高溫熔煉而成，黑色不透明體，六方晶體，莫氏硬度為9.15.僅次於金剛石和碳化硼，脆、鋒利，具有一定的導電性。
